Photo Update: Hispanic Day

Today we visited the Presidio San Saba.

Campers toured the ruins of the Presidio.

Mr. Garza told campers about the creation of the Presidio and the restoration efforts.

Campers listened to a presentation about soldiers at the Presidio.

Campers learn about the life of a soldier.

Next, we toured the Menardville Museum.

The museum has a great collection of old machines and movie cameras.

Don't worry, Mom and Dad, this is just a museum exhibit!

In the afternoon, campers learned how to make tortillas.

Campers use the tortilla press.

We also searched for "Clues in the Dirt" and learned about archeology!

Campers learned how to make a retablo.

The finished retablos.

At the end of the day, campers listened to a Mariachi Band.

Campers loved the Mariachi Band so much, they danced along with the band!
